In Asia, Malaysia is not in the list of Top 10 Highest Download and Upload Speed country. It is because Malaysia ISP can only support up to 4Mbps to local and 2Mbps to International. Let me introduce to the Top 5 Biggest and Fastest ISP in Malaysia.
1. Optical Communication Engineering Sdn. Bhd.(OCESB)
This company was established in 1992 by Rimbunan Hijau Group to produce optical fibers, optical cables and associated passive devices, active devices and accessories in Malaysia. This company also acquire Network Facility Provider, Network Service Provider and Application Service Provider License. Optical Communication Engineering Sdn. Bhd. currently offer some product and services such as Business Broadband Packages, Residential Broadband Packages, OCESB Application and OCESB infrastructure. Besides that, OCESB not only support Fiber Optic for Office, they also have Fiber Optic packages for residential with a cheaper price and line speed between 2Mbps to 1Gbps.
2. NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd. NTT Communication Corporation
NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd. was Incorporation on 1997 by Mr. IMAIZUMI Fumitosh. This company is provided media Communication, file transfer between PC and LAN, fax, color movie file transfer and video conference. NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd. is using Global Managed Network Services – Arcstar which is a high-capacity and premium quality private managed circuit service that provided by NTT Communication Corporation in Japan. NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd. provided Arcstar Global Frame-Relay, Arcstar Global ATM-Service, Arcstar Global Bandwidth Service and Arcstar Global IP-VPN.
3. Jaring Communication Sdn. Bhd. (JARING)
Jaring Communication Sdn. Bhd. was established on 1992 with only 28 subscribes and grow up to 0.8 million in year 2005. Jaring was then established as a spin-off company under MIMOS Berhad on 1st of April 2005. Unfortunately, in December 2006, Ministry of Finance officially takes over Jaring from MIMOS Berhad. Nowadays, Jaring offer many products and services to all Malaysian company or home-user such as Broadband flite, Broadband flite Enterprise, Global Roaming, Office Broadband, Secure VPN, Web Hosting, Dial-Up and etc.
4. TIME Telecommunications Holdings Berhad. (Time DotCom)
TIME dotCom Berhad was incorporated as a public company on 11 December 1996 under the name of TIME Telecommunications Holdings Berhad. Time dotCom is able to offer its services to both domestic and international markets, from voice and data communication to Dial-Up and Broadband Internet provision. TIME dotCom Berhad provides fixed line, voice and data communications and other value-added services using the ‘TIME’ brand. The Group’s fixed line and broadband business handle four major product categories, namely Direct Access, which deals with products that require the Group’s infrastructure to be built into customers’ premises; Indirect Access covers products that do not require the building of infrastructure; Broadband; and Managed Network systems. 5. TMNet Telekom Malaysia (Streamyx)
TM Net was established in 1995 by the then state-owned and now government linked telecommunications company, Telekom Malaysia Bhd. It was deployed in 1995 on a technical trial and commercial trial between TMnet and COINS. The first commercial trial of xDSL by TM was done through a service known as HiS that was deployed together with Ericsson in 1999. Streamyx was launched in 2001. TMNet offer Internet DSL Broadband access under the name of Streamyx for Business Users and Home Users. The internet line speed of Streamyx is around 384Kbps to 4Mbps.
