Searching your desktop for files can be a real pain without the right tools. Every desktop has one (ore more) search tools that can be used to search for that missing file. Linux is not an exception.

Used to be, with GNOME it was simple to have multiple wallpapers configured so that each desktop would have its own wallpaper. But then Compiz came along and monkeyed with that option. But that option isn’t completely gone.

Have you ever had to create a kiosk PC for use in a business so that customers can either search a database of products or check out your services on line? If so, and you’ve tried to do this with Windows, you know how complex a task it can be. First and foremost – you have to make it such that users can only launch specific applications.

Windows Aero is the standard graphical user interface that most Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems ship with. Microsoft made the decision during the Windows Vista release to block some or even all Aero effects in some editions of the operating system and has continued that strategy during the release of Windows 7.

One of the advantages of the Google Chrome browser is that Google is actively developing extensions for it. That’s an advantage because it ensures that users do not have to worry (that much) about data security and that popular Google services are available as extensions for the web browser. Google Similar Pages is an add-on for the Google Chrome web browser that can help users in the discovery of related or similar websites to the one that is currently viewed in the active tab of the Internet browser.
