Defragment multiple drives simultaneously with Smart Defrag
Last Updated on Monday, 6 October 2008 12:18 Written by richardcqz Friday, 26 September 2008 09:17
Smart Defrag is a free disk defragmenting utility from IOBit. There are a few things that set this program apart from other defragmenting tools like Defraggler, JkDefrag and UltimateDefrag.
First, Smart Defrag can defragment several hard drives or partitions at once. In my tests, it did a complete scan of a 20GB partition and a 70GB partition in a matter of seconds. Smart Defrag can then either defragment the disks in question, or defragment and optimize the disks by arranging data for the best possible performance.
Smart Defrag also includes a handy scheduling utility which allows you to schedule daily, weekly, monthly, or one time disk defragmenting jobs. You can also have the application run when you first boot your system, when your computer is idle, or at regularly scheduled intervals (like every two weeks). If you’re the sort of person who keeps putting off the task of defragmenting your hard drive, this feature could really come in handy.

Last Updated on Saturday, 13 September 2008 12:05 Written by richardcqz Friday, 29 August 2008 02:09
Nowadays, many people are changing CRT monitor to LCD monitor because the price are cheaper, here no mention that CRT monitor expensive, just the price range are very near. There are a few brand of LCD monitor i can recommend: Samsung(Standard or Wide), LG, HP, Acer(17″ or 19″), BenQ, Asus and etc.
Sometimes the monitor happen to have dead pixel which come original from manufacture, so you will have to check it before you buy it. I worked in Cycom Sales and Services Sdn. Bhd. few months ago, many of the customers come to buy LCD monitor will ask a favor for checking the dead pixel of the monitor. And many of the monitor had been rejected back to manufacturer for few dots of dead pixel.
Now i currently recommend you few softwares to check the dead pixel of your monitor so that if your monitor still under warranty, you can send back to warranty but remember need at least 7 – 9 dots of dead pixel only can warranty.

The Java applet that helps fix stuck pixels and image persistence on LCD screens and reduces burn-in on plasma screens. The applet runs safely inside a web browser, does not require installation and works with Windows, Linux and Mac computers. JScreenFix repairs most stuck pixels in under 20 minutes, and mild screen burn-in within 12 hours.

Compact program for fully testing and configuring your TFT monitor. The test are Base color test, Interference and video noise test, Grayscale test and RGB test.

This diagnostic program helps you adjust the settings of your monitor to get the best possible picture quality. It helps you test important criteria like sharpness, color convergence, moiré and interference or the geometry. You can easily adjust brightness, contrast, white balance, focus and the picture size and position.

Stexbar Fixes Glaring Omissions to Windows Explorer

What about a button to add a new folder? Oh, hell yes. StExBar supports hotkeys as well, so now I can ctrl + shift + N (though that’s really no easier than alt – w – n). You can also copy file and folder names and paths as plain text to the clipboard and click console to open a command prompt window in the current folder.
That’s it for the basics, but StExBar doesn’t quit there. It also does bulk renaming with regular expression support and allows you to set up your own, customized buttons. You can tweak new commands a number of ways, applying them only to selected files or folders or when nothing is selected. Don’t want your new command to function in a vital area? Just check off “enabled when showing system files” to prevent accidentally screwing up important folders like System32.
And don’t ignore the edit box on the right of the bar. It’ll match expressions in your current folder and select all matching files and folders. Want to move all your MP3s containing the word “Manilow?” Type *manilow* in the box, hit enter, and StExBar highlights them all for you. If you have any.
Which I don’t. I swear.
StExBar is freeware, 32 and 64-bit Windows only, and it packs a wallop for a 370k download.

Windows Cannot Open The Files
Last Updated on Sunday, 22 June 2008 12:58 Written by richardcqz Sunday, 22 June 2008 12:58
If you’ve downloaded that must have program only to realize that Windows has no idea what to do with it. After an hour of Google searching, forum posting, and being called stupid, you finally figure it out.
Here is the list of 10 programs that will take care of those pesky “Windows cannot open this file” messages once and for all.
File Types: DivX, XviD, AVI, Mpeg 1-4, AC3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, FLV, OGG, VOB, and tons you’ve never heard of.
Description: Why there are 85,000,000 different audio and video types we have no idea. What we do know is trying to install codecs one at a time generally ends in a reformat.
Thankfully, the good people from K-Lite (Koors Lite?) have bundled all the software and codecs you need into one executable. Cheers!
2. Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative
File Types: RM, RA, RAM, RPM, RMVB, RPX, SMI, SMIL, RT, RP, MOV, QT, 3GP
Description: Before the days of Youtube, the Real Player and QuickTime were kings of Internet multimedia. Sure you had to deal with popups, reminders, updates, and bloatware, but that 1″ video was so worth it.
Fortunately, the Real and Quicktime Alternatives removed the real in Real Player and restored the quick to QuickTime. Enjoy your 1″ video! Read more: Windows Cannot Open The Files
